Damien is after sending me on a link to a snazzy website which allows you to stream the song of your choice from their library to on your website like so…
Regsiter and login to Sonific, then browse their categorys, find a track you like, configure your settings (you can pick between a horizontal and vertical player), grab the code and yonk it onto a website of your choice.
You can can see this in action on Damien’s wordpress.com blog.
They have a solid collection of indie, jazz, house and hip-hop. The only downside is a lack of playlists. If you could create a playlist of a dozen or so tracks instead of one then I would probably use it on blaa.ie.
The one track is worthless in my opinion as the satic song could get associated with static content. Another problem is of course the reloading of the flash file which will of course bring the track back to 0.00. I’m no flash expert but I would imagine that sessions might be able to store the time and then play from that point after each reload. But of course then you’re taking into account people on dial-up connections and all that lark. Pop-up windows! But the flash player doesn’t give you an option to load it up in a new window. This isn’t a problem for someone who understands code but for Britney who wants to put a song about Kittens up on her Bebo page…..tough shit luv.
Here is some information on configuring Sonfic to work with Wordpress widgets.

Yes its a pretty neat widget. Would like some extra features although the music selection is v good on it. I am after buying a couple of Cds of iTunes of it how much of a sucker am I!
Good stuff. That track I was listening to last night on your blog brought back memorys of the mid ninties (christ…never thought i would say that at my age).
It was very Robert Miles. Where did he go? He was way better than his dad at making music…Miles Davis.
Ouch, bad joke time. It doesn’t even make sense! Unless they’re Norwegian or something and they take the first name of their father as their last name but that would make Robert Miles Miles Davis’s dad.
^ True story apparantly.
